GYDA KROPFF studied Textile and Monumental Design at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in The Hague, The Netherlands. Her passion for patterns, her love for refined details are the inspiration for all she now creates in her studio.

This theme is interwoven in each facet of FABEL, the label under which Gyda has been producing her designs for since 2006. The seed of FABEL was planted when her two children were born. Curious about how they would find their own unique place as part of the wider world, she asked: ‘Who are you? Who are we? And what will we do together in our lives?’ Stitch by stitch FABEL prints, patterns and products come to life and help us further in our quest to discover who we really are. Different animals teach us about love and beauty, collaboration and trust, dreams and wonderment, courage and growth.
